About Baraka Gifts and Decor

Baraka is more than just a gift shop. It is a place where you can find a variety of arts, crafts, jewellery, décor and more from South Africa and beyond. Baraka means a blessing in Swahili, and we want to share our blessings with you.

We believe in design and social responsibility. That’s why many of our products are recycled, upcycled, handmade, and fair trade. We support more than a hundred small, independent artisans and crafters from different cultures and backgrounds. We also sell a few vintage items that have a retro charm and a story to tell.

At Baraka, you will discover a treasure trove of unique and affordable gifts for yourself and your loved ones. You will find handmade leather notebooks and photo albums, hand crochet hats, shell and driftwood spoons, jewellery for every occasion, artworks that will make you smile, quirky one-of-a-kind pieces, non-curio African goods that celebrate diversity, Panama hats and handbags, hand-woven Zulu baskets made from recycled telephone wire, and much more!

We get new stock regularly, so you will always find something new and exciting at Baraka. Our vision is to offer you an extraordinary shopping experience at very reasonable prices. Our loyal customers call us “the little shop with the big heart”. You will find the perfect gift here, come and see for yourself!

Please note: We only sell a limited number of items online, so we invite you to visit our shop at the Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village in Cape Town’s scenic and vibey De Waterkant village in Green Point.

We are an owner driven gift shop since 2007. Since then, our loyal customer base has grown incredibly. We often appear in local and international magazines. (Please see Editorials).  We keep the shop fresh and trendy. We are always changing the look and feel and if you revisit us after a few weeks you would find many new items you may want. Or just come in for a chat and browse.
